

Johnny K. Livingston, “Big John”, 73, of Bartlett passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013 at his home. He was born in Louisville, MS on August 22, 1940, graduated from Louisville High School and spent two years at Itawamba Community College. “Big John’s” first job was as a disc jockey at WLSM Radio in Louisville where he hosted his own show, “Johnny’s Hayride”. He began working for Delta Airlines on June 25, 1962 as a reservation agent, was promoted to reservation supervisor and eventually retired after 33 years of service. Mr. Livingston was also a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. Mr. Livingston leaves his dear wife, Sharon Livingston; children, Jeff Livingston of Eads, TN, Dana Scaife of Walls, MS and Paige Bingham of Atoka, TN; grandchildren, Taylor Davie, Shelby Scaife, Caden Bingham and Callie Bingham; great grandson, Chandler Davie; and a very special brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Rosemary Simpson. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Hilda Ozelle Livingston-Bowie and Willie Livingston. Family and friends will gather from 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening, September 29 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Celebration of Life services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, September 30 at the funeral home with interment to follow in Memorial Gardens. Memorial Gifts may be made to the West Clinic or to the American Cancer Society.
