Joshua M. Smith, was born on July 27, 1992 and died on October 7, 2014. His 22 years of life were filled with happiness, love, devotion, and faith. He attended Catholic schools from the third grade through high school. Josh had a passion for music and was a talented jazz guitarist. He chose to major in music and attended Southwest Community College and the University of Memphis with all of his focus on learning to excel in jazz. Throughout his educational years he was blessed with having devoted teachers. Josh’s family continues to be thankful for the time and guidance from his music teachers and his high school tennis coach. Josh was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church where he participated in youth and volunteer activities.
Josh is survived by his mother, Susan Smith, and grandparents Suzanne and Tom Veerkamp and Marsha and Rodney Smith. Josh was preceded in death by his uncle Edward Smith. Memorials: U of M’s Rudi Scheidt School of Music, or any music program of your choice for children of any age. A celebration of Josh’s life will be held on Saturday October 18 at 3pm in the chapel at Hope Presbyterian Church, 8500 Walnut Grove Rd. Cordova TN.
