

Born June 13, 1948 in Paris, AR to the late Bert and Lotha Minor Cooper, she attended Fort Smith Northside High School in Fort Smith, AR and graduated with a Bachelor of Science from University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR.
Judy retired from Memphis City Schools in 2011, capping a long teaching career that spanned multiple schools, including many happy years at Booker T. Washington and Craigmont High Schools.
Judy loved to teach, read, play with her grandkids and was an avid amateur nature photographer, with many pictures from her favorite getaway, Lake Ouachita.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Frank Nahlen, two sons, Raymond Nahlen and wife Stacy of Plainfield IN, David Nahlen of Germantown TN, three beautiful granddaughters, Mary, Ann and Sara of Plainfield IN, one sister Marilyn Anderson of Van Buren, AR, three brothers, Bert Cooper of Oklahoma City, OK, Larry Cooper of Fort Smith, AR and Mike Cooper of Van Buren, AR, several nieces and nephews and two aunts Clara Mae Dow of Durant, OK and Patsy Darr of Greenwood, AR. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donnie and Ronnie Cooper of Fort Smith, AR.
Visitation will be Monday, June 4, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.. The Funeral Mass will be in St. Ann Catholic Church, 6529 Stage Road, Bartlett TN, on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with burial following at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Ann Catholic Church.
