

She was born on June 15, 1944 in Baton Rouge, LA. Katherine lived her early years in Hammond, LA before moving to Ruston, LA in high school. Katherine attended Ruston High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from Louisiana Tech University. She had a fulfilling career as a Case Manager for the Department of Human Services, State of Texas. Upon retirement, Katherine chose to re-locate outside Nashville, TN to be closer to her 3 girls and their families.
In her free time, Katherine was an avid quilter and genealogy researcher. She loved going on quilt retreats with her friends and sharing her latest genealogical find with family members near and far. More importantly she enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren, creating lasting memories together.
Katherine was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her daughters, Mary-Katherine Wright Gaushell (Charles) of Collierville, TN; Lara Wright Romer (Ken) of Lebanon, TN; and Elizabeth Wright Glover of Woodstock, GA; as well as her seven grandchildren, Taylor, Katie, and Mary Hannah Gaushell, Andrew and Makenzie Romer, and Michael and Madison Glover; her sister, Lucia Abegg Butler; and nephew, Malcolm Butler.
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Roland and Ellen Lucia Abegg, and her brother, Sydney F. Abegg.
A private service for Katherine will be conducted in Baton Rouge, LA at a later date. Contributions in her memory can be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
