

Lola Mae Eason, age 80, of Memphis, TN died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Baptist Hospital after a short illness. She was born in Benton, IL on October 20, 1932 to the late Cecil and Idalia (Hicks) Briley of Benton, IL. Lola Mae was a devoted wife, wonderful mother, and loving grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Fred Edward Eason; Daughter Kathy (husband James) Garrett of Holly Springs, Miss. and sons Fred Edward Eason II (wife Karine) of Wilmington, NC and Ronald Wood Eason of Memphis; Grandchildren Jennifer Renee Hanemann of New Orleans, LA; Ashley Eason Stamper of Orlando, FL, Christopher Garrett of Ft. Collins, Co; Amy Eason, Emily Eason, and Briley Eason all of Wilmington, NC; sisters Marcella Maybry and Shelia Brashear both of West Frankfort, IL; brother Charles Briley of Thompsonville, IL and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Bob, Jack, and Bill Briley. Lola and her husband were long-time owners of the East Memphis Shoppers News, Consumer Times of Memphis and the Shopper's Press of Memphis, Inc. and long-time members of Oak Forrest Church of God in Southaven, Miss. The family would like to thank the Baptist Memorial Hospital CVICU nurses for the care and compassion provided during Lola’s hospitalization. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Oak Forest Church of God, Southaven, Miss. for the Church of God Children’s Home which was very special to Lola. Viewing will be Monday, December 3 at 1 p.m. at Oak Forest Church of God, 7700 Getwell Road, Southaven, Miss. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m.
