

Marvin was born May 2, 1936 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, one of 13 children born to the late Ellis & Beatrice Brown. He went to Hot Springs High School before joining the U.S. Navy of which he made a 30 year career from 1954 until he retired in 1984. After retiring he worked at the Army Depot in Memphis. He was also a lifetime member and past Grand Master of the Tipton County Masonic Lodge.
Along with his parents, Marvin was also preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Lori Brown, and nine of his siblings.
The main love of Mr. Brown's life was his family, his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He met his wife of 68 years, Norma Jean McClure, who he married January 19, 1956. They had three children Michael (Connie) Brown, Melinda (Mark) Moore and Mitchell Brown; grandchildren Steven, Nikki, Dalton, Misty, Megan and Christina; and eight great-grandchildren; his sister Glenda and two brothers Dale & Donald.
Family and friends will gather on Thursday, December 5 from nine o'clock in the morning until funeral services begin at ten o'clock all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133.
