Mary Chimane Adams, a thoughtful, inspirational, and faithful soul, passed away on December 8, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on November 19, 1935, in Bexar, Alabama, Mary moved to Memphis, Tennessee, at a young age to begin her life and career as an educator in the state of Tennessee.
Mary was a proud teacher at Trezevant High School, where she dedicated 25 years of her life to inspiring and educating young minds. Her commitment to her students and her profession was unwavering and left a lasting impact on many.
She was predeceased by her parents, Noonan and Mary Adams, as well as her brother, Sam Adams, and her sister, Linda Adams Murphy. Mary leaves behind her beloved niece, Debra Murphy, who cherishes her memory.
A devoted member of Bellevue Baptist Church, Mary was actively involved in her community and lived a life of service and faith.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the service at 10:00 am at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, with burial to follow at 3700 N. Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett, TN 38133.
The family requests any donations be made in her honor to Bellevue Baptist Church.
