Mary Teresa Worthington Davenport (67) born August 29th of 1956 and passed away surrounded by her loving family on May 26th. Mary was a devoted and loving wife to Ralph Davenport for 50 years of marriage. Mary was a loving mother to Nicholas, Samuel and Joseph (Shannon) . She was a doting grandmother to seven: Sydney, Samuel, Noah, Mary, Zoey, Kip and Aida, Great Grandchildren: Luke, Savanna, Ansleigh and Matthew. Her sisters Cathy Hodges and Anne Roberson and brother Robert Worthington survive Mary. Mary attended the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, the University of Memphis obtaining a bachelor’s degree in nursing, Delta State for a master’s degree in nursing. Mary obtained her degree as a nurse practitioner. Mary worked at Methodist Hospital in Memphis and Baptist Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi. Mary also worked at Baptist Hospital on Union and she worked for Baptist East for over 20 years in the ER as a nurse practitioner. Upon retirement, Mary continued to work as needed for Baptist. Mary was diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer at the end of June of 2023 and underwent several chemotherapies and a stem cell transplant. Mary was a fighter until the very end. A host of family and friends will dearly miss Mary.
