Mary Lou Bannon Leet, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at the age of 91. She was born in Bay Arkansas on Sunday July 19, 1931, a daughter of the late Dee L. Bannon and the late Verna L. Hurd. Mary was a long time member of Macon Christian Church and later a member of Leaclair Baptist Church.
Mary graduated from Truman High School, working as a beautician in Little Rock in her younger years. She loved to crochet blankets for her kids and grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her brother Lee Edward “Sonny” Bannon, the father of her children, Marcus “Gene” Leet and two great grandchildren. Mary is survived by her brother Henry Clayton Williamson, her children, Stephen Leet (Elizabeth), Ed Leet (Lea), Glen Leet (Sue), Janet Harvill (Jim), Mark Leet (Diann). She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, with one great grandchild and one great-great grandchild on the way.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 24, from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm, and a Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 25 at 10:00 am. All services will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett TN 38133. Burial will follow the funeral service in Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
