Michael Francis Pleasants Sr. of Memphis passed away peacefully on January 31, 2019 at the age of 76. He was the son of James Jay and Virginia (Francis) Pleasants and brother to James Jay Pleasants III. Michael is survived by his son Michael Francis Pleasants, Jr., his daughter-in-law Virginia and granddaughter Vera Louise. Michael attended Vanderbilt University and received his law degree from Memphis State University in 1967. He was hired as an Attorney and eventual partner in the former law firm of Heiskell, Donelson, Bearman, Adams, Williams and Kirsch, and then started the Pleasants Law Firm in 1993. He was a devoted father, avid gardener, prolific reader and dear friend. The family will receive friends beginning at noon on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Grace St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 1720 Peabody Avenue, Memphis, TN with a service to follow at the church at 1:00pm under the direction of Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN.
