Michael, known to his friends and family as "Mike," was a passionate sports enthusiast who found joy in following his favorite teams, the Alabama Crimson Tide and the New York Yankees. Beyond the realm of sports, Mike was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, often known by his road name “Scruffy”, who embarked on countless adventures, traversing 44 states and Canada alongside his beloved companion, Cindy. Together, they reveled in the beauty of the open road, creating cherished memories along the way.
In the professional sphere, Mike was a dedicated and diligent worker, dedicating his career to the tractor trailer industry. He began his journey in the factory and steadily climbed the ranks, ultimately becoming a respected contractor at the NS ramp in Rossville, TN.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Rickert. Michael is survived by his loving and spirited wife of 35 years, Cindy Rickert; his adoring sons, Cody Rickert, Justin Rickert, and Jacob Rickert; his precious granddaughter, Harlow Rickert; his devoted mother, Beverly Rickert; his brothers, Danny Rickert (Joan) and Kevin Rickert (Christina); and his beloved, often mischievous, sketchy dog, Nicki.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Forever Young Veterans, or to Cindy’s Great Cycle Challenge fundraiser in memory of Michael.
