Miriam Deal Knight

Miriam Deal Knight was born in Charlotte, NC on May 23,1930 to Eunice C. and Rev Jonas H. Deal. She moved to Memphis after marrying William Lewis Knight on October 22, 1950. They were married for almost 46 years before cancer took his life far too soon. They had two children: William Lewis Knight, Jr. (Bill) and Miriam Teresa Knight (Terry). Bill is married to Donita Mullinax and they have two children: Jessica E. McConnel (Todd) and Jennifer J. Miller (Grant). Miriam has five great-grandchildren: Liam McConnel, Carolina McConnel, Whittaker Miller, Alice Miller and Everett Miller.

Miriam was a long-time member (over 70 years) of Memphis Calvary Church of the Nazarene, where she played piano and organ for many years. She also worked as the church secretary for 8 years. Then she worked in the Reimbursement Department of Arlington Developmental Center for 22 years. She was a multi-talented lady who liked to sew and sing as well as play the organ and piano. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, but mostly she loved and served the Lord Jesus. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren rise up and call her blessed for living and teaching the truths of God.

A visitation for Miriam will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A committal service will occur Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Memory Hill Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.
