

Norman Paul Hagemeyer, 72, was born in St. Louis, MO and passed away on July 30, 2016 in St. Louis after a determined battle with Leukemia. He was a proud graduate of Frayser High “Class of 62”, Memphis State University, “Class of 66” with an engineering degree and Cecil Humphreys School of Law in 1972. After college, he worked at International Harvester before going to law school. During his private practice he was an assistant attorney for the City of Memphis for 25 years and a trustee for the US Bankruptcy Court for more than 40 years. Norman was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha and was in the Naval Reserve. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, collecting “junque”, attending auctions and painting pictures. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Norman E. and Mona Hagemeyer; brother, Gerald Hagemeyer and sister, Elayne Gorski. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Bonnie; daughter, Juli Eck; grandsons, Alex and Max Eck, whom he adored; nieces, Jenny Griggs and Kristina McCormick and their children, Sydney, Sophie, Nolan, Ada and Sloan; and his parrot, Otay. Norman was a hard working, generous, loving man with a great sense of humor and will be missed greatly. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, August 3, from 5-8 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday morning, August 4 at the funeral home with interment to follow in Love Community Cemetery in Hernando, MS. Norman’s family would like to thank the West Clinic and the Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis for their special care and compassion.
