Paul M. Stanko, 77, of Adena, Ohio, passed away on July 5, 2016. Mr. Stanko was born in his family home on October 4, 1938. Mr. Stanko was the definition of a blue-collar worker - hardworking, straightforward, no-nonsense, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy; he was known for saying what he meant and meaning what he said. He was a fantastic father and a devoted husband who made countless sacrifices for his family. Mr. Stanko was a strong-willed and a “good” man. He was married to his loving wife, Shirley Anne, for 38 years before her passing in 2000. He is survived by his sons, Paul Michael Stanko (Maria) and Jim Stanko. He also leaves his grandchildren, Paul, Vincent, Dominic, Nicholas, and Molly, as well as his sister, Phyllis Meseroll (Dan) and his brother, John Stanko. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 8, 2016 at noon until funeral services at two o’clock at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Charity, 1661 Sycamore View Road, Memphis, TN 38134.
