Peggy Ann Hurt, also known as Peggy Steen McNeil, passed away at the age of 83 in her home in Millington, Tennessee on February 6, 2024. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Peggy was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi and brought warmth to her family's lives. She had a passion for gardening and could often be found tending her beautiful gardens.
Peggy is survived by her loving children, John McNeil (Denise), Ronald McNeil (BJ), Sheila Woods (Carl), and Mary Wade (Jamie). She was also adored by her 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Steen; brother, John Steen; and a great-grandson, Anthony Smith.
A private family graveside service will be held to honor Peggy's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Dementia Society of America.
Peggy's family and friends will deeply miss her presence, but her memory will forever be cherished. may she rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty she nurtured in her garden and the love she shared with her loved ones.
