Richard Dane Goins

Richard Dane Goins entered into the presence of our LORD and Savior on Monday, February 3rd, 2025. He was born August 1st, 1967 to Linda Hoard Reece and Donald Edward Goins in Marianna, Arkansas. He was raised by his mother and sister Donna, in Forrest City, Arkansas. Graduated from Forrest City High School where he met his love Sandra Criss Goins. It was love at first sight and they were inseparable for 40 years. He received an Associate Degree in Business from State Tech of Memphis graduating with a 4.0 earning a full scholarship to The University of Memphis. There he received a Bachelor Degree in History, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He was employed with FedEx for the past 35 years. Dane was a deacon and active member of Calvary Baptist Church of Bartlett.

He loved all of GOD's creation, the warm ocean sunset, the crisp mountains air, and the clear starry night sky. He admired all animals and they seemed to be drawn to him also. Writing came easy to him, especially poetry. Science fiction and comedies were his favorite entertainment. Dane loved to laugh and had the best dry sense of humor. He loved nature walks, good food, and the zoo. He admired music, art, and museums. Above all he loved the LORD and willed everyone to know our Savior.

He was preceded in death by his father Donald Edward Goins, Step father Glyn Dale Reece, grandparents Johnnie "Mamaw" and Leroy "Papaw" Hoard, Anna "Granny" and Ernest "Papaw" Goins. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Sandra Criss Goins, mother Linda Hoard Reece, sister Donna Brown (Ronnie), 3 nieces, 4 nephews , and 3 great nephews.

A visitation for Dane will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 1:00 PM until the funeral service at 2:00 PM, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. The graveside service will immediately follow.
