Richard E. Prine, 80 years young, of Memphis, TN passed away peacefully in the early hours of December 16, 2024. Richard graduated from Messick High School in 1962. He briefly attended Memphis State University, William R. Moore school of technology, and started his own business as owner of Quality Business Products for 35+ years. He was preceded by his parents, M.C. Prine and Doris Elizabeth Chambers Prine, his brother Mike Prine (Rosemary) of Bartlett, TN, and Patrick Lambert (grandson).
Surviving family members are his wife Patricia McKnatt Prine of 59 years, Valerie Prine Taylor, Elaine Prine Lowe (Rob), and Melanie Prine Castillo (Alfredo). He has 5 grandkids; Zachary Snyder, Brittany Snyder Feagin (Kolin), Matthew Lambert, Isabella Castillo, and Christian Castillo. He also has two great grandkids; Maddox Feagin and Beckham Feagin. He has one surviving sister; Beverly Prine, and many nieces and nephews.
Richard’s hobbies include listening to music, strumming on his guitar, playing baseball, watching SEC football (especially Memphis Tigers and UT Vols and Alabama)! He loved to talk and, he would talk to anyone, for extended amounts of time. He knew a little about everything and what he didn’t know he taught himself.
He loved God, family, and life. He was a member of Charjean Church for 50+ years and Berclair Baptist for the last 8 years.
Our family would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Gentiva Caretakers; Phillip, Shonte, Marion, Simone, Christine, Marley, and Dewayne for their compassionate and dedicated care during his last months and battle with COPD & memory loss.
He truly left an impression on all he met, and he never met a stranger.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday December 28, 2024 from 1 pm until 2 PM. A Celebration of Life will begin after gathering at 2 PM all at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38122.
