Samuel Henry Rhodes, Jr., 88, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on December 26, 2016. A graduate of Treadwell High School, Mr. Rhodes served in the Tennessee State Guard and the U.S. Army. He was retired from Buckeye Cellulose after thirty-six years. Mr. Rhodes was passionate about motorcycles and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-nine years, Margurette Ferguson, as well as his wife of seventeen years, Shirley Flemming. He is survived by his sisters, Natalie Johnson and Celeste Dawkins; his children, Carol Watson (Ernie), Donna Clampitte, Sam Rhodes III (Cindy), Richard Rhodes, and Elaine Grant (Jeff); seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 30 from 12:30 until the time of funeral services at 2:00 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133.
