Sandy graduated from Lincoln High School and went on to build a remarkable career as a legal secretary with Weeks and Anderson law firm in Nashville, where she worked with dedication and professionalism for 42 years. She was known for her outgoing personality, loyalty, and talent for organizing and planning events.
While living in Nashville, Sandy served as President of Welcome Wagon and was an active member of Tusculum Church, where she cherished her friendships in Sunday School. Her natural leadership continued throughout her life, including her time at The Heritage in Memphis, where she served as President of the Council and Chair of the Ambassadors. Sandy was truly happy there and embraced the strong sense of community, especially enjoying playing bingo with her dear friends.
Above all, Sandy was a loving mother who was deeply proud of her family. She found great joy in spending time with those she loved and in creating lasting memories together. She also loved to travel; she and her husband, Jim, enjoyed cruises, annual trips to Destin, Florida, and regular visits to Las Vegas. She delighted in playing the penny slots in Tunica and was always ready for a trip to the casino.
Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Crain. She is survived by her children, Lee Bidwell (Mike) and Andy Millar, and his wife Suttina who was like a second daughter; and her stepsons, Larry Crain (Florence) and Marty Crain (Terry). She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Daniel, Samuel, Drew, and Alex and their partners, as well as six great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
She will be remembered for her warmth, her vibrant spirit, her leadership, and the love she shared so freely with family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Arlington Suite, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, US, on March 27, 2026, beginning at 10:00 am.
