Sharron Annette Smith, age 72, of Arlington, Tennessee passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021. Sharron was born March 29, 1949 in Memphis, TN to the late Taylor and Mary Segerson. She taught English for 41 years at State Tech now known as Southwest Tennessee Community College. Sharron served as a volunteer for the Shelby County Sheriff's Office. She loved gardening, cooking and being with her family. Sharron was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ where she enjoyed teaching Bible classes and working in the nursery. She was a member of Bartlett Woods Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Taylor and Mary Segerson and her brother, Phillip Segerson.
Sharron is survived by her husband of 51 years, Leonard Smith, her daughter, Heather Shoemaker (Serge), and her brother, Dennis Segerson.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Sharron's caretaker over the last year, Debbie Taylor.
In lieu of flowers gifts in Memory of Sharron may be offered to the Alzheimer's Association or your local Animal Shelter.
A visitation for Sharron will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133 with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM.
