Shirley Pate, 67, of Bartlett, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. She was a member of Faith Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was active with the Helping Hands group. A member of the National Association of Retired and Active Federal Employees, she gave 38 years of service with the Federal Government. Mrs. Pate, the wife of Jerry M. (Mike) Pate for 44 years, also leaves a daughter, Carrie Pate (Kevin) Gilmore of Virginia Beach, VA; a brother, Gene Kendrick of Ohio; and two nieces, Tracey Parrish of Yorktown, VA and Kristy Gaskins of Pocosin, VA. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Kendrick and her parents, Earl and Ruth Kendrick. A Celebration of her Life will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 28 at Faith Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the family receiving friends beginning at 1 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial gifts be made to Faith Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
