Stephen Henderson, Jr.

Stephen Hugh Henderson Jr. passed away Saturday evening, December 26, 2015. After suffering from dementia and a stroke in 2008, Steve Jr.'s health has gradually decreased over the past few years. He has lived four years in a nursing rehabilitation center, where his wife of 48 years is also is a nurse. This gave the family peace that he was well cared for.

Steve Jr. was born and raised in the Memphis area where he carried on a local sign company, founded in 1967 by his father. He had a huge personality, was full of joy, and had a heart for giving.

He is survived by his amazingly strong and loving wife, Belinda Henderson; son, Stephen Hugh Henderson III (Shannon Seaver); two grandchildren, Stephen Ray and Seth Riley Henderson; daughter, Dale Colleen Johnston (Christopher Johnston); son, Raphael Semmes Henderson; brothers, Danny Ray, Gregory (Sandra Henderson), and Lance (Julie Henderson) and two sisters, Suzon Burrows (David Burrows) and Vashti Greene (Pat Greene). Three Brother-in-laws; Ronald Williams (Gail Williams), Allen Williams (Deborah Williams) and Danny Williams (Mary Williams). He is preceded in death by his father, Stephen Hugh Henderson, Sr., mother, Luzon Henderson, and brother, Larry Henderson.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, December 30, from five until eight at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. Funeral services will be held at the same location the following day at two o’clock. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting www.memphisfuneralhome.net.
