

SUE NELL GRAVES. Heaven must be even more beautiful since Sue has arrived. She is all ready planting pansies with Boe in one of God’s gardens. She was born on December 16, 1923 and passed away on her 88th birthday. She has gone to join her beloved Boe, parents Sterling and Ida Hurst, brothers Sparks and Wayne Hurst, grandson Mark Whitaker, and son-in-law Gene Benson. She will be missed by her daughters, Jan Whitaker and Carol Benson, son-in-law Whit Whitaker, granddaughter, Lisa Whitaker, granddaughter Katy and husband Brad McDaniel, and her only great-grandchild, Olivia. Other survivors include her sister, Faye Stain, brother, Jack Hurst, and her special friend and caregiver for the past year, Peggy Little. She also leaves her extended families at Rose Terrace, Apple Grove, Allen-Morgan, and the compassionate and caring staff of Crossroads Hospice. Sue lived a full and rewarding life, married for 62 years to Boe. They traveled the United States from corner to corner, missing only 2 states. She was an avid gardener, able to grow anything, anywhere, any time, and enjoyed crossword puzzles, games, and Memphis Tiger athletics. Visitation will be from 11 to noon, Monday, December 19 with a short memorial service immediately following at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens.
