Teresa Gail Loftis Browning, age 67, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Teresa was born February 20, 1957, in Cookeville, Tennessee, to Lucille (Ford) Loftis and Thomas Noah Loftis.
Teresa is survived by her husband, R Terry Browning of Lakeland, a daughter, Kelsey Browning
Connor of Memphis and a brother, Mack Loftis of North Carolina. Her siblings, Durell “Steve” Loftis, Lorell Mills Loftis, Ricky Loftis, and Carolyn Loftis, preceded her.
Teresa married Terry in 1980, and this year would make 44 years of marriage. She was an RN and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with an AS and BS degrees in Nursing and Psychology, respectively. She also earned an MBA from Brenau College in Gainesville, Georgia. She worked for over 20 years with St. Jude in Clinical Informatics.
A loving wife, mother, and friend, Teresa was an RN who viewed her work as a calling to help
others. She served in intensive care units in Middle and East Tennessee and Athens, Georgia. During her time in Knoxville, she joined an information technology team. In that area, she also served at the Baptist Memorial Hospital system in Memphis and finally in Clinical Informatics at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital for over 20 years.
A visitation will occur at Faith Baptist Church, Bartlett, 3755 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN 38133, on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. A celebration of her life will follow at 11:00 a.m.
Teresa's burial will also be held at 3:00 pm Monday, June 10, 2024, at Clear Creek Cemetery at Clear Creek Baptist Church, 1728 Lawton Road, Selmer, TN 38375.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Teresa’s memory may be made to the Clear Creek Cemetery
Fund or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
