Timothy Andrew Hanson

Timothy Andrew Hanson, 50, of Bartlett, Tennessee, passed away on April 29, 2025. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Tim grew up with a deep sense of duty, loyalty, and humor that defined his life and relationships. He graduated from Bemidji High School in 1993 and soon after began a distinguished 12-year career in the United States Army. His service included time with the elite Old Guard, honoring our nation through the Presidential Honor Guard at the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery. He also served as an aviation mechanic (67T) and as an infantryman (11B), bringing strength and integrity to each role.

After his military service, Tim pursued higher education, earning his associate degree with cum laude honors from Southwest Tennessee Community College. He found his second calling as a Physical Therapy Assistant and worked to serve countless families in the community through his work at Regional One Health, where his natural warmth and humor brought comfort to patients and colleagues alike. He truly loved hearing people’s stories and believed in treating every person with compassion and respect.

Tim was a proud Master Mason at Bartlett 211 and Past Monarch of the Zyman Grotto. He gave freely of his time, often donning a clown costume to bring smiles to children and the community. He proudly served as a Shriner with Al Chymia Shrine as well as a DeMolay Advisor to Tipton Manor and Tipton Chapter where he was a mentor to many young men. Tim was a man of many interests—a passionate gamer, avid reader, comic book enthusiast, and a dedicated history buff. His laughter, big personality, and uncanny ability to not take himself too seriously left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Tim was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Emerson and Benita Leckband, John “Jack” and Pearl Hanson; and his father-in-law Robert E Dockery, Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Debbie; his children Anthony (Crystal) Willard, Shelby (Nate) Carlson, Alexander Hanson, and EM Sean “Blue” Hanson; nine cherished grandchildren; his parents Donald and Karen Hanson; his brother Dale (Missy) Hanson; his mother-in-law Lucy Dockery; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.

Tim will be remembered for his servant heart, his laughter, and the countless lives he touched with kindness and authenticity. His legacy lives on in his family, friends, and all those who had the joy of knowing him.
