Veda C Borden

VEDA RUTH CORNELIUS BORDEN, 85, of Bartlett, died December 17, 2011 at Saint Francis Hospital - Bartlett. Veda attended Tishomingo County (MS) High School, where she played basketball for 6 years. After graduation in 1944, she moved to Memphis and married J.B. Borden in 1947. Veda obtained her Real Estate license in 1968 and her Broker license in 1979. She opened her real estate office, Veda Borden Co., Realtors, in 1979 and was active in real estate for the rest of her life. Veda is survived by her son, Jerry B. Borden (Joan); and daughter, Carolyn R. Borden; one grandson, Jason C. Borden (Stephanie); and three great-grandchildren, Allie Mae, Bella, and Cameron Borden. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Borden. She was a long time member of Graham Heights Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, December 19, and Funeral Services will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, all at Memphis Funeral Home on Germantown Road.
