

VIRGINIA MORTON SEWARD, age 89, went to be with The Lord on March 6, 2013, at Methodist Hospital, Germantown. She was born in Cordova, TN to Raymond Veazey and Floy Morton on June 17, 1923. She graduated from Germantown High School and worked as an ammunition inspector at Security Signal during WWII. She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace G. Seward in 1990, a life-long farmer from Eads, TN. She was a homemaker, an excellent cook, and loved to celebrate special occasions with family and friends. She was an avid gardener and had a true love of flowers, which runs deep and long in the Morton family. She also worked as a seamstress for The Oxford Shop in Bartlett before her retirement. She was an active member of Eads Baptist Church until her death. She is survived by two sons, Ron Seward (Jacque) of Collierville, Paul Seward (Laura) of Cordova, three grandchildren, Paula Seward (Memphis), John Mark Seward (Tulsa), and the late Rob Seward, and great granddaughter Lilly Seward, one brother, Don Morton (Margaret) of West Linn, OR, nieces Sue McCarthy (Tim), Carol Morton, Linda Lewis, and nephews Greg Bonnette,(Sherry) and Ray Morton. Visitation will be Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 12-2pm at Memphis Funeral Home Memorial Gardens at 3700 N. Germantown Road, with service to follow at 2pm.
