William "Buddy" Axton

He was born to the late Rufus and Ida Axton on January 29th, 1942 in Rayville, Louisiana. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William L. Axton, Jr.; his daughter, Carolyn Axton; his brothers, Jimmy, Sonny, and R L Axton, Sr. and a step-son, James Starnes.

Buddy is survived by his wife of 31 years, Betty Axton; his children, Tabitha Hobgood (Johnny), Richard Axton, Shauna Baldwin (Curtis); his step-children, Janet Way (Bob), Julia Conner (Kendall), John Starnes, William Starnes (Dee) and Susan Starnes; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Chambers Chapel Cemetery Fund in care of 3979 Chambers Chapel Rd, Lakeland, TN 38002.

Family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Friday, April 29th at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. Services will follow at 2:00pm. Interment will be at Chambers Chapel Cemetery in Lakeland, Tennessee.
