Bill attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School and CBC High School. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
Bill worked for the City of Memphis Fire Department over the course of his career of 35 years and retired as District Chief.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Joan Bargery and his brother Edward Bargery.
He is survived by his children: Daughter Kathleen Simpson and son in law Randy Simpson of Garland, TX. Son Bill Bargery Jr and daughter in law Kim Bargery of Bartlett, TN. Son Kevin Bargery of Atoka, TN. Daughter Mary Bruno and son in law Dale Bruno of Somerville, TN. Daughter Maureen Walton and son in law John Walton of Highland Village, TX.
His is also survived by eight grandchildren: Jessica and Jake Simpson. Elise and Will Bargery. Michael and Matthew Bargery. Haley and Darci Walton.
Bill was a faithful, long time member of St. James Catholic Church.
Friends may visit from 10:30 am to 11:30 am Monday, July 26, 2020 at St. James Catholic Church, 4180 Leroy Avenue, Memphis, TN 38108 with funeral mass to follow at 11:30 am.
Interment will be held in Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN. Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens is in charge of arrangements.
