William E. Laporte Sr.

William E. LaPorte, Sr., 79, of Bartlett, TN, formerly of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Friday, April1, 2011. He was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, a 4th degree Knights of Columbus, and was retired from Pennsylvania Blue Cross Blue Shield in Camp Hill, PA. Mr. LaPorte, the husband of Patricia M. LaPorte for 55 years, also leaves his daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Daniel Piscioneri of Camp Hill, PA, Patrice and (Captain, USCG, Ret.) Gary Thornton of Edwards, CO and Renee’ and James Dvorsky of Plain City, OH; sons and daughters-in-law William E. and Louise LaPorte, Jr. of Phoenixville, PA and Charles G. and Bernice LaPorte of Bartlett, TN; sister, Judy Carson of Philadelphia, PA; brothers, John and Robert LaPorte and Anthony Tavaloni, all of Port St. Lucie, FL; and grandchildren Kelly Hollingsworth, Ryan Gillespie, Kristopher Thornton, Bryan and Melissa Dvorsky, Carl, Liane, Heather, Jessica, Paige and Claire LaPorte. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Andrew and Esmond LaPorte. A funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 5 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with a short visitation beginning at 9 a.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens, formerly Memory Hill Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial gifts be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church or the local chapters of either the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
