William Lawrence MacNeil

William ‘Bill’ MacNeil was born on September 26, 1951, to Lawrence William MacNeil and Bernice Catherine MacNeil. William passed peacefully at Baptist Memorial Hospital late February 13, 2023 at 71 years old.

Bill was born in Rhode Island, then moved to Tampa for over 20 years, eventually settling in Bartlett, Tennessee. Bill is proceeded in death by his by late wife Susan Macneil, Kimberly and Robert’s mother. William leaves behind his wife, Allie; his son, Robert; his daughters, Kimberly, Mary Lynn, and Katie; his brother, John (Roxie) MacNeil; his sisters, Robin (John) Lax, Laurie (Don) Hartley, Linda (Brooks) Faison and Ellen; as well as many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

Bill was a devoted husband, father and friend. He was known for his bear hugs and infectious laughter. Bill loved to spend time with his friends and family. His passions were golfing, cooking, NASCAR, spending time by the pool and taking long naps. Bill never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel welcome. He always loved an excuse to travel and go on vacation. Bill was a spiritual man, often attending Hope Church.

If you had the honor of knowing Bill, you had the honor of knowing a humungous heart. Bill loved his family and friends with all he had. If you were in need of help - he was there. If you were in need of a shoulder - he offered both. In all of life’s big and small moments, Bill treated them all with the same care. He will be missed deeply by all of those that knew him, especially by his wife and children.

Visitation is scheduled for 1:00pm, immediately followed by a funeral service scheduled for 2:00pm on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Hope Church. David Morris will be officiating. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Hope Church prior to the service at 8500 Walnut Grove, Cordova, TN 38018.
