William Cecil “Smitty” Smith, 87, of Bolivar, Tennessee passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017. He was a retired Staff Sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps, retired deputy sheriff with the Onslow County, North Carolina Sheriff’s Dept., member and past master of the Bolivar Masonic Lodge and a member of Middleburg Baptist Church of Bolivar. Mr. Smith was a loving husband and was very devoted to his wife and family. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Lucille Smith, Lenora Kohl, Ardell Holmes, George Smith and Jerril Smith; and survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Faye A. Smith; son, Mike Smith of Lucy, TN; brother, Otis Byron Smith and his wife, Nell of Swainsboro, GA; as well as many family and church friends. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 4, 2017 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN.
