William Robert “Bob” Wiggins of Bartlett, TN passed away February 4, 2020. Bob was born in Gadsden, Alabama to James Horace and Annie Mae (Phillips) Wiggins February 27, 1932. Bob met the love of his life, Betty “Sue” Allen in high school. He graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Chemistry in 1955. After serving in the Army, Bob and Sue were married in 1957 and moved to Memphis, TN where he began his career. He worked his entire career with Humko Chemical (Witco Corporation). He started as a chemist and progressed through various roles and retired as Vice President of Operations. Bob and Sue have been long time members of Bartlett Hills Baptist Church (formerly Raleigh Baptist Church). Bob was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed sports and was an avid baseball & softball player in his younger days and enjoyed golf and bowling. He continued playing in a bowling league until recently. Bob is survived by his wife Sue, two children, Laura Vanhoozer of Bartlett, TN and Robin (Melanie) Wiggins of Newburgh, Indiana, six grandchildren, Blake Dillon, Brittany Burnett (Jermaul), Cliff Vanhoozer, Katherine Wiggins, Anna Wiggins and Collin Wiggins, three great grandchildren, Dylan, Logan and Kayleise Burnett and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, James (Jay) Wiggins, Jr., Herman Wiggins and Donald Wiggins and son in law Barry Vanhoozer. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and Ave Maria Nursing Home for their great care over the past year. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 1:00 pm until the time of the funeral at 2:00 pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett TN 38133. The burial will immediately follow.
