Edwin Kerr

on September 11, 2014. Ned was born September 22, 1907 in Davilla,

TX, to Robert P. and Ida White Kerr. He attended school in Bartlett, TX,

where he was recognized for his athletic abilities lettering in four

sports. He married Nancy Louise Kerr of Granger, in 1929 and moved

to Houston where he and Louise owned Kerr Auto Supply. After

retiring, they returned to their home area building a home outside of

Holland, Texas.

Edwin was ordained as Deacon in 1945 at Riverview Baptist Church in

Houston. He was a faithful member there. He continued his faithful

service in the Val Verde Baptist Church retiring to Deacon Emeritus in

2013.

He was preceded in death by Louise, his wife of 61 years, and by his

second wife, Rachel Sartor Kerr. He is survived by his daughters,

Jane Kelly-Olson of Houston, TX, and Sarah Walker and husband,

John, of Granite Canon, Wy. Grandchildren are: Vicki Owen and

husband, Paul; Edwin Kelly; Patrick Kelly; Cristina Sheats and

husband, Russell; Kevin Johnson and wife, Judy; step-grandchildren

Karen Dawson and Carol Gonzales. Edwin is also survived by eight

great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 15, 2014, from

6 P.M. - 8 P.M at Goodnight Funeral Home in Bartlett. Funeral

services will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at 1 P.M. at Val

Verde Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Val Verde Cemetery.

Ned's family would like to express their appreciation to the friends

who showed such loving support during Ned's final days and ask, in

lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Val Verde Baptist Church

Building Fund.
