

Houston and Alberta Parks on July 30, 1937 in Bastrop
County. He is preceded in death by both parents and a
Sister, Ruthie Mae Shelby, two nephews, Curtis Shelby, Glen
Shelby, and a niece, Gwendolyn Shelby.
James leaves to cherish his memories: A brother-in-law,
Horace Shelby of Lexington, Texas. Seven (7) nieces:
Etta Shelby, Ardus West of Austin, Texas. Ethel Shelby of
Houston, Texas, Barbara Johnson of Lexington, Texas,
Evelyn Shelby, Carolyn Jackson of Lubbock, Texas, Joyce
Dodd (Bill) of Orange County, California, two (2) nephews
Joe Shelby and Eddie Shelby of Lubbock, Texas, two (2)
very special cousins Gene Moore Sr. (Yevette) and Gene
Moore Jr. of Austin, Texas. James also leaves three (3)
generations of nephews, nieces and cousins.
James was baptized at Park Springs Baptist Church
and was a member of Park Springs Baptist Church until he
was no longer able to live alone; he was then placed in a
assisting living facility in Austin, Texas called Generation
Group Home. James was moved to Will-O-Bell Nursing
Home in Bartlett where he remained until his death.
