John Melvin Graff

John M. Graff of Bartlett Texas went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 4, 2015. He was 84 years 6 months and 15 days old. John was born to Viola Whetsell and Walter E. Graff on January 21, 1931 at home in Conneautville, Pennsylvania. He attended Penn Line Grammar school and Linesville High School. He graduated in May of 1948. John relocated to Dallas Texas in 1952 because it was just too cold in Pennsylvania. He met the love of his life, Dorothy Lovella Fields, and married her on April 19, 1957.

John is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Dorothy L. Graff, father Walter E. Graff, Mother Viola Graff, Sister Dorothy Loucks, Brother Edgar Graff, Niece Peggy Long and Nephew Doug Waring.

He is survived by his Mother-in-Law Nola M. Willoughby of Bartlett. He is also survived by his Daughter and son in law Johnna Rister and Mark of Bartlett, Daughter and Son in Law La Dena Drake and David of Burleson four grandchildren Samantha Anne Krage-Rister of Duncanville, Robert Charles “Chuck’ Rister of Bartlett, John Allen Drake of Burleson and Isaiah David Drake of Burleson. John is also blessed to be survived by two sisters Betty Loucks and Ruth Waring of Linesville, PA, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

The family will be receiving visitors on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Goodnight Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 10 am at The First United Methodist Church of Bartlett. Per John’s Request he wants a happy celebration of life service.
