Lee Ortiz Sr.

Lee was born in the Granger / Friendship, Texas area on April 22nd, 1937 to Pablo and Isabel Ortiz. He worked many trades while growing up.

He married Maria Anita and together raised 4 men and taught them the value of working. He worked at Wilsonart in Temple for 20 years and any other side work to support family. Together with Anita , enjoyed watching their sons on Friday nights play football. Even more so, when grandkids came along and started playing the different sports. Took many trips to Rio Bravo to visit family.

He spent these last year’s enjoying spending time with grandkids and going to the nursing home every day to be with Anita.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents Pablo Sr. & Isabel Ortiz, wife Maria Anita Ortiz, brothers Armando and Francisco Ortiz, and grandson Christopher Ortiz.

He is survived by his sons, Adrian Ortiz & wife Celia of Round Rock, Texas, Lee Ortiz & wife Donna-Marie of Bartlett, Texas, Armando Ortiz & wife Rosalinda of Bartlett, Texas, and Erasmo Ortiz of Bartlett, Texas; his grandchildren, Krista Ortiz, Colby Ortiz, Brianna Marie Ortiz, Erasmo (Jr.) Ortiz, and Eric Ortiz; his 7 great grandchildren; siblings Catalina Ortiz, Maria Ortiz, Victor Ortiz, Pablo Ortiz, all of Rio Bravo, San Juana Ortiz of Reynosa, and Consuelo Ortiz, Jovita Ortiz both from Dallas.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday February 2, 2021 from 6pm-8pm at Goodnight Funeral Home with a rosary at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday February 3rd, 2021 at 10 am at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger, TX. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Granger, TX.

Serving as pallbearers will be Colby Lee Ortiz, Erasmo Ortiz Jr, Eric Ortiz, Stephen Taylor, Rick Luna Jr, and Samuel Williams.
