

Allan is survived by his four siblings, Ronnie L. Young of Canton, Terry L. (Diana) Young of Glasford, Tracy D. (Jacqueline) Young of Glasford and Hollye C. Herndon of East Peoria; 12 nieces and nephews, Melissa, Mark, Erika, Tera, Luke, Kaci, Kaitlyn, Arianna, Alanni, Bethany, Matthew and Rachel; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, Hailye, Logan, Brylee, Parker, Cooper, Kylor, Turner, Grady, Tennisyn, Hayden, Merisa, Darion and one on the way; two aunts, Sara Jane (Jess) Moore of Joliet and Joyce (Marvin) Shafer of Glasford.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Allan worked as a construction laborer for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 649 in Peoria for many years.
He was a member of His River of Life in Liverpool. Allan was an amazing musician and songwriter. He and two of his brothers (Ronnie and Terry) along with Kenny Mooney recorded an album in 1978. The Young Brothers High Energy Rock. He has performed more recently and over several years at area churches and in Springfield at Abe's Old Hat. His guitar was more like an extension of himself..it was a gift that he loved to share.
Allan's funeral service will be at 11:30 am on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Glasford United Methodist Church. Pastor Sheldon Westerfield will officiate. His visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:30 am also on Friday at the church. Burial will take place in Lancaster Cemetery in rural Glasford.
