Betty Jean Butler, 85, of Bartonville, Illinois, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 4, 1933 Decatur, Illinois to Luther and Mary (Nelson) Fields. She married Charles Butler on December 8, 1951 in Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1991 in Morton, Illinois.
She is survived by four children, Cheryl Duhs of Bartonville, Illinois, Christie (Michael) Doloszycki and William Butler both of Peoria, Illinois and Cathy (David) Butler-Weathersby of Charlestown, Indiana; five grandchildren, David Duhs, Danielle (Noah) Durham, Will, Sami, and Shelby Weathersby; two great grandchildren, Cameron and Caroline Durham; one brother, Jim (Jean) Fields of Bartonville, Illinois.
Betty was an active member at the Second Baptist Church for many years, teaching Sunday School for over 40 years and singing in the choir, quilting and holding many leadership roles within the church. She was an avid bowler in earlier years. She loved spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 10:30 am at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Her daughter, Cathy Butler-Weathersby and Pastor Wayne Yeager will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, from 4 pm until 7 pm at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
