Chuck was born on September 19, 1940 in Gassville, Arkansas to J.D. and Eva Mae (Norris) Erby. He married Jessie Eileen Lipsey on December 1, 1962 in New Albany, Indiana. She preceded him in death on September 12, 2020.
Also preceding Chuck in death are his parents; daughter, Eileen Jones; and brother, Eugene Erby.
He is survived by his children, Dena (Kevin) Lantz of Chapin, SC, Terri (Aaron) Tibbetts of Chapin, SC, and Spencer (Rebecca) Erby of Mapleton, IL; grandchildren, Louie, Gabe, Reagan, Riley, and Warner; and sister, Margaret (Don) Overholt.
Chuck graduated from Limestone High School in 1959. He served in the United States Army from 1960-1961, and went on to serve in the Reserves. He worked for Keystone until his retirement on June 1, 1999. He was a member of the Masons, Scottish Rite, Keystone Goodfellows Club, and a lifetime member of Glasford United Methodist Church.
Chuck loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and the yearly family get-togethers in Chetek, Wisconsin.
Chuck's funeral service will be held at Glasford United Methodist Church on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 11am, with a visitation to start an hour prior at 10am. Burial will take place at Lancaster Cemetery.
