Doyle Allen

He was born May 28, 1934 to Everett and Leathie (Austin) Allen. He married Lena Ponzel on August 4, 1956 in Bartonville, IL.

Surviving are his former spouse, Lena (Ponzel) Allen of Hanna City; his children, David (Janet) Allen of Brimfield, Carl (Carol) Allen of East Peoria, Karen Cheney of Hanna City and Marcy (Carl) Warren of Hanna City; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five sisters, Virginia Bell and Hilda (Ora) Roberts, both of Morton, Betty Thomas of Plano, Shirley Angle of Sumner and Louise Evans of Spring Bay.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Doyle was a Private First Class in the US Army serving from 1956-58. He worked as a cement finisher for 28 years as a member of the Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons International Association Local #12 (OP&CMIA). He served as the Trivoli Township Road Commissioner for 8 years. He was also a farmer in the Trivoli area for most of his life.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel with the Rev. Bob DeBolt officiating. Burial with Military Funeral Honors will follow at Penn Ridge Cemetery near Trivoli. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
