E. Leon Alden

E. Leon Alden, 77, of Bartonville, Illinois, died Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. He was born on April 28, 1937 in Babylon Township, Illinois to Erwin Bradford and Bernadine (Little) Alden. He married Carole L. Steiner on July 25, 1968 in Peoria, Illinois. She preceded him in death on April 30, 2012 in Bartonville, Illinois. He is also preceded in death by one son, Scott Alden.

He is survived by his children, Christy (Larry Friend) Roberts of Peoria, Illinois, Sue (Ron) Armstrong of Bartonville, Illinois and Billy (Annita) Simpsen of Brereton, Illinois. He has two grandchildren, Billy (Jenni Nagel) Rieck, Nicole (Trent Hostetteler) Kraus; two great grandchildren, Brayden Allen Rieck and Dallas Nau.

The family would like to express their gratitude to his caretaker and friend ,Pam Cansino , for all of her care and support.

He was owner of Lewis Cabinet in Peoria, Illinois for over 30 years retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Bartonville American Legion Post 979, Moose Lodge in Pekin, Illinois, Eagles Lodge in Florida and the Hanna City Sportsman’s Club. He attended the First English Lutheran Church in Peoria.

A celebration of life service will be Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 7:00 PM at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Rev. Dr. James Lilly will officiate. A memorial visitation will be from 5 PM until 7PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be in the Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
