

Erma was born on August 29, 1923 in Fayette County, IL to parents Elbert and Ellen (nee Largent) Bingham.
She married V. Oral Harris on April 4, 1942, he preceded her in death on June 29, 1993.
Erma is survived by one brother Herbert Bingham, niece Valerie Allott (Mark), nephews Charles Bingham (Mia), Nicholas Bingham (Sandy), Thomas Bingham (Beth) along with nephew Gerald Rehg. Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews and 1 great, great nephew.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Elvin Earl, sister Delma Wright Goss and husband Cliff, brother Herb’s wife Eunice, nieces Angela Marie and Gail Ann Bingham, Janet Marie Rehg and Judith Erma Arterburn (nee Wrights) and grand nephew Mark Rehg.
Erma contributed to the war effort in a munitions plant prior to joining Caterpillar. She retired as an Administrative Assistant in Cat’s R&D Group, and was missed by all of her co-workers who valued her skill and dedication.
Erma also worked on her family farm throughout her life and in later years was the loving caregiver for many of her great nieces and nephews. She was also a great cook.
Erma graduated from Vandalia, IL Community High School class of 1941.
She was a long-time member of St John’s Lutheran Church in Bartonville, IL.
Her life was spent as a kind, loving, and giving person greatly loved by family and friend. Rest in peace dear.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bartonville. The Rev. Michael Jones will officiate.
Visitation will be held an hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or Special Olympics of Illinois.
