Fred L. Schwindenhammer

Fred L. Schwindenhammer, 88, of rural Bartonville, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Heddington Oaks in West Peoria, Illinois. He was born on March 26, 1930 in Peoria to John F. and Winifred E. (Giles) Schwindenhammer. He married Mary E. Meisinger on December 29, 1954 in Hanna City, Illinois. She preceded him in death on November 9, 2009 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by one grandson and three brothers.

He is survived by five daughters, Sharon (Ralph) Whitfield of Farmington, Illinois, Karen (David) Melton of Bartonville, Illinois, Carolyn Schwindenhammer of Peoria, Illinois, Arleen (Dave) Ray of Pekin, Illinois and Linda Harrison of Peoria Heights, Illinois; four sons, Fred J. Schwindenhammer of Creve Coeur, Illinois, Ralph L. Schwindenhammer , Richard A. (Eden) Schwindenhammer and Russell (Debbie) Schwindenhammer all of Bartonville, Illinois; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Fred retired from Keystone Steel and Wire Company where he worked as a wiredrawer.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 10 am at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Rev. Jack Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-7 pm at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
