Georgia Grace Lookabill

She was born on November 6, 1931 in Peoria, IL to Park R. and Viola H. (Taylor) Masters. She married Paul E. Harris in 1950, Mervin B. Barnett in 1970 and Joe H. Lookabill in 2010, all of whom preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death are her parents and three grandchildren: Bryan Denning, Josie DeWeese, and Corey Matthews.

Surviving are her daughters: Paula (Dewey) DeWeese of Edwards, IL, Jeana (Rick) Matthews of Foley, and Marcia (Al) Goodwyn of Wake Forest, NC; 6 grandchildren, Jessica Joynt, Colin (Brittany) Matthews, Cassi Matthews, Rachel (Tom) Ellenberger, Drew and Sam Goodwyn; 5 great grandchildren; her sister, Nancy (Larry) Pope of Columbia, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

Georgia worked as a clerk at Pekin Hospital before becoming the librarian at Woodrow Wilson School in Peoria where she retired after 23 years.

Georgia was active member of South Aiken Presbyterian Church of Aiken, SC; United Presbyterian Church of Peoria, IL; and First Presbyterian Church of Foley, AL. She loved to travel, volunteer at church, and she enjoyed being creative through all kinds of art, sewing and quilting projects.

Services for Georgia will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, December 30, 2023 in the Mausoleum Chapel at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria where burial will follow.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
