BARTONVILLE- Jack A. Hermann, 80, of Bartonville, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. He was born on September 17, 1938 in Peoria, Illinois to Node and Ethel (Faust) Hermann. He married Mary Krones on December 7, 1963 in El Paso, Illinois. She survives.
He is also survived by four sons, Richard (Cindy) Hermann and Ronald (Kris) Hermann both of Bartonville, Illinois, Scott Hermann of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Steven (Jody) Hermann of Ringgold, Georgia; eight grandchildren and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Jack was an accountant, first employed at Armour Meat Packing Company, where he met the love of his life. Later he worked at Pabst Brewing Company for 20 years and then worked many years at Uftring Auto Mall before retiring in September of 2017. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Bartonville American Legion Post #979. He was a graduate of Bradley University and an avid Bradley Braves basketball fan. He also was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. He loved his family and spending time with them was his biggest joy in life.
Private family memorial service will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018. A celebration of life will be held from 1pm until 5pm Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Bartonville American Legion. The family requests that friends attend in casual attire or their favorite sports attire in Jack’s memory. Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be in the Parkview Cemetery in Peoria at a later date. Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel is handling arrangements.
