

James A.”Jim” Peacock, 82, of Bartonville, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Unity Point\Methodist in Peoria, Illinois. He was born on December 27, 1934 in Schuyler County, Illinois to Harold and Gussie (Whited) Peacock. He married Beverly Condiff on September 3, 1955 in Peoria, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Darren (Sharen) Peacock of Bellevue, Jamey (Kathy) Peacock of Mapleton and Loren (Cheryl) Peacock of Bartonville; seven grandchildren, Dara, Anthony, Dylan, Connor, Calvin, Trey and Creighton; one sister, Pansy (Jack) Beckman of Mapleton and one brother, Vern (Kathy) Peacock of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bradley Peacock.
He was a Senior Master Sergeant for 38 years at the U.S. Air National Guard of Bartonville retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Bartonville American Legion Post #979 and the American Motorcycle Association. He had a passion for motorcycles and cars. He loved going to his son Jamey’s motorcycle races, Loren’s sporting events and watching Darren play music. He did it all over again with his grandchildren several years later. His ultimate love was his wife of 62 years who will miss him every day. He had great respect for the men he worked with and had a great pride serving his country.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Rev. Craig Hislope will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 until 7pm at the funeral chapel on Thursday. Burial will be in the Maple Ridge Cemetery near Mapleton with full military honors. Memorials may be made to Easter Seals.
