

John T. “Jack” Ray, 83, of Bartonville, Illinois, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 7, 1933 in Riverton, Illinois to Kenneth and Margaret (McClain) Ray. He married Charlotte Lornitis on December 24, 1952 in Springfield, Illinois. She survives.
He is survived by two children, Pamela (Russell) Campen of Rock Falls, Illinois and Mark (Bridgid) Ray of Peoria, Illinois. He has six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and four brothers and two sisters surviving.
He worked as a meteorologist for the National Weather Services for over 34 years retiring in 1988. He was an Air Force Veteran serving from 1952 to 1960. He was a member of the Bartonville American Legion Post 979 and the VFW Post in Bartonville. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Rev. Raymond Barclay will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Friday. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Bethel Lutheran Church.
