Julia E. Magnuson

Julia E. Magnuson, 73, of Bartonville, Illinois, died Thursday, February 26, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 11, 1941 in Mason County, Illinois to Clarence and Irene (Chance) Thompson. She married Howard Magnuson on October 4, 1958 in Peoria, Illinois. He survives.

She is also survived by three children, Frank (Cheryl) Magnuson of Tremont, Illinois, Wayne (Michele) Magnuson of Crystal River, Florida and Tammy (Ed) Sikora of The Woodlands, Texas. She has fifteen grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Jessie, Jennifer and Scott Magnuson, Ryan, Tyler and Kyle Sikora, Bryce and Reece Johnson and Robert, Thomas, Chelsie, Christian, and Jeanette Wunderlich; she also has six great grandchildren. Julia has one sister, Winifred (John) Lauder of Downers Grove, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Hubert Thompson and daughter-in-law, Deborah (Brown) Magnuson.

Julia was a Legal Secretary for over 20 years working at the Heyl, Royster and Voelker and Allen Law Firm. She was a very active member of the First Covenant Church in Peoria for over 50 years. Julia enjoyed gardening and scrapbooking. She was deeply devoted to her family and cherished her faithful dog, Milo.

Memorial Services will be at 6:30 PM Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the First Covenant Church at 3616 N. Bigelow St. Peoria, Illinois. The Rev. Kevin Wright will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM before services at the church on Tuesday. Cremation rites will be accorded. Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.
