Lowell Gordon Pille, 93, of Hanna City, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Proctor Place in Peoria. He was born on September 13, 1929 in Bartonville, a son of George Pille, Jr. and Elizabeth (Janssen) Pille. Lowell married Bobbie Sue Smith on July 24, 1951 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Glasford. She preceded him in death on January 20, 2018 in Peoria.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Donald Pille.
Lowell is survived by his three children, Terry (Marylu) Pille of Minonk, Marilyn (Greg) Strickfaden of Hanna City and Rosemary (Tom) Haynes of Hanna City; five grandchildren, Erin Pille, Andrew (Katie) Pille, Jason (Kirsten) Krane, Jennifer (Derek) Cruit, and Katrina (Chad) Morehouse; nine great-grandchildren; and his special friend, Karen Randle.
He served his country in the United States Army, a veteran of the Korean War.
Lowell was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Peoria County Farm Bureau and the Glasford American Legion Post #35.
He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Glasford, where he was baptized and confirmed. Lowell had served as a past member on the church council and the church cemetery committee.
His life was centered around his faith, family, friends and farming.
Lowell's funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2023 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Glasford. Rev. Ray Barclay will officiate. His visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2023 at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. An additional visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday at his church. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his church.
